The Daiwa Maverick MQ is a heavy-duty saltwater spinning reel with the ability to turn heads not just with its looks, but what's under the hood as well. In terms of features and performance specs, the Maverick MQ sits in between the Certate SW and the Saltist MQ, with a size range of 8000 - 20000 and higher gear ratios to suit topwater fishing and jigging from the stones or off the boat.
Sporting a Monocoque (MQ) aluminium one-piece body provides the Daiwa Maverick MQ with the building blocks of what makes this reel unique and truly special. Inside the MQ body sits a G1 Duralumin drive gear, the same exact gear set that is found in the world-renowned Daiwa 20 Saltiga Reel and the Daiwa 21 Certate SW Reel. This large diameter, G1 drive gear gives the Maverick MQ Reel unmatched power and strength for its class and pushes the boundaries on giving anglers more affordable options to tackle the world’s largest predators. The high-spec features don’t end there, with the Daiwa Maverick MQ also sporting both a Mag Sealed Body and Mag Sealed Ball Bearing equipped line roller for ultimate saltwater durability. As you know, Daiwa’s MagSeal technology is a fantastic way to seal a reel’s internal components from damaging saltwater ingress. A one-piece seamless Air Bail directs line into the roller for trouble-free usage, which is installed on a Zaion Air Rotor - a highly stiff and rigid carbon composite material which is lightweight for low inertia start up but incredibly strong to withstand heavy drag settings.
