Bream: Best baits yabbies, worms, fish flesh, mullet gut and pilchard. Bream usually rough snaggy areas, 2m to 6m in depth. They feed together in schools usually around areas which give them some protection, such as sunken logs, oyster beds, eroded banks or the base of rock walls.

Flathead: Best baits are strips of fish flesh, half pilchards and peeled prawns. Flathead are an estuariane species best caught at dawn and dusk with a dead low tide. They migrate down to near the mouths of estuaries and along gutters of adjacent beaches during Dec.-April.
