Lead dive weights offer divers a traditional way to manage buoyancy. These weights have a high density and are sized to fit on a dive belt. Weights can be easily added, removed and stored on the diver's person to control descent and ascent. Without them, it is difficult to descend as the diver is too buoyant. The amount of weight needed varies depending on the individual's body type and the amount of neoprene they are wearing. We suggest first using a pool to determine the correct amount of weight. This can then be adjusted to suit saltwater conditions.
